Born in the Philippine city of Cebu and raised in Hawai’i, Kristian Lei began her singing career at the age of 19. Without formal vocal training, Kristian was chosen to play the lead role of Kim in the Cameron Mackintosh Production of Miss Saigon in Germany. Her career took off and next she played the ingénue, Ti Moune, in the AAI Philippine Tour of Once On This Island.
